Kolkata, apr 26 (Reporter) BJP spokesperson Shamik Bhattacharya on Friday expressed confidence that party candidate Debashis Dhar will come out clear and contest the election from Birbhum Lok Sabha seat. Earlier today the DM Birbhum rejected the nomination of the former SP owing to alleged 'no dues' certification in the nomination form. Bhattacharya claimed a Supreme Court verdict on April 9 last in a case of Arunachal Pradesh candidate clearly said such 'no dues' certification is not mandatory in the case of contestant. He said the matter is moved in the Apex Court for its intervention. Bhattacharya said why the DM did not seek such 'no dues' certificate when the applications were filed. It was a motivated action on the part of the authorities to stop Dhar from contesting the poll as previously a video went viral to thwart him from contesting the Birbhum seat, Bhattacharya said. " Though we have a ready candidate Debtanu Bhattacharya for the seat but finally Dhar will be cleared and contest from Birbhum.
