Hyderabad, July 6 (Reporter) The Telangana BJP unit paid rich tributes to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, at the state party headquarters in Nampally on Saturday, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, BJP OBC Morcha National President and Rajya Sabha MP, Dr Laxman, lauded Dr Mukherjee as a great patriot who sacrificed his life for the unity and integrity of India.
He highlighted Dr Mukherjee’s firm opposition to special powers and autonomy for Kashmir, his campaign against Article 370, and his commitment to the unity of the country.
Dr Laxman reiterated Mukherjee's famous stance: "Ek desh mein do vidhan, do pradhan, do nishan nahi chalenge" (One country cannot have two constitutions, two Prime Ministers, and two national emblems).
Dr Laxman praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fulfilling Dr. Mukherjee’s vision of a united and strong India by abrogating Article 370 and fully integrating Jammu and Kashmir into the country. He also criticized the Congress party’s vote bank politics, claiming it has been effectively countered under Modi’s leadership.
He said that the BJP organized numerous service programs nationwide to honour Dr Mukherjee's legacy.
Dr Laxman highlighted the party’s efforts to commemorate the contributions of key figures in India's history and educate future generations about their lives.
In memory of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, BJP workers participated in a nationwide sapling drive to promote environmental conservation and ensure a healthy society for future generations.
Dr Laxman also reacted to the meeting between the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who expressed their commitment to resolving issues amicably. He affirmed the central government’s dedication to the development of both Telugu states and stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development of all states, emphasizing that politics is only until elections.
Dr Laxman mentioned that he is writing an open letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, urging him to protect the sanctity of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD)...////...
