Bengaluru, May 4 (Reporter) Karnataka BJP President Vijyendra Yediyurappa has refuted any knowledge of sexual abuse allegations against Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna. He stressed that such issues would not adversely affect the ongoing general elections for the two parties.
Vijyendra stated that he has not received any letter regarding the allegations against Prajwal. His response follows BJP's G Devaraje Gowda's claim of having written a letter to the Karnataka BJP President in December 2023, informing him about alleged explicit video clips involving the MP.
Gowda also cautioned that if Prajwal were fielded as the NDA candidate from the Hassan constituency, it could bring embarrassment to the party.
Gowda, who contested for the Holenarasipur Assembly seat in the May 2023 assembly election against Prajwal's father HD Revanna, asserted, "The claims that Vijayendra was aware of the incident and a letter was written to me as the state President in this regard is not true. The person who has said it, please question him....Such incidents should not happen, everyone should bow down their heads in shame because of such incidents."
Vijayendra firmly denied the allegations, asserting, "I want to clarify that I have not received any such letter. As the state party president, I take full responsibility for my statement. Regarding the matter of video clips, the claims of receiving a letter informing me about the scandal are completely untrue."
