Mumbai, Jun 19 (Reporter) Maharashtra BJP president, Chandrasekhar Bawankule, said on Wednesday that the party will take out 'Aabhar Yatra' (thanksgiving journey) in the state to express its gratitude for support given by the voters in the Lok Sabha election.
Talking to reporters at Nagpur airport, he said, "All MLAs, MPs, office-bearers will go on this tour in July. We will convey new schemes of the Modi government to people, to whom we will go to ask for votes."
He further said that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is the leader of BJP in Maharashtra and he will lead the state.
"All the legislators and the state BJP have requested Fadnavis to stay in the government and help the
organization," he said.
The BJP chief further said that Fadnavis is needed in the government so that he can bring the Narendra Modi government's development plans to Maharashtra.
Asked about his discussions with senior BJP leaders in Delhi, he said that he held detailed discussions on each constituency in the state with the central leadership.
He also said that in those constituencies where the grand alliance candidates trailed by less than half a per cent votes, they will work to fill this gap in assembly elections by doing more work.
Replying to NCP president Sharad Pawar's recent comment that "it is my luck that Modi criticizes me in every meeting, but I (Pawar) will change power with the help of farmers", Bawankule said that PM Modi criticized Pawar Senior once, but he has been criticizing Modi for last one and half years...////...
