Ashok drew comparisons with previous incidents, such as slogans in the Vidhan Soudha and a bomb blast at The Rameshwaram Cafe, to argue that the Congress government has failed to maintain law and order and curb anti-national elements. The BJP also challenged Home Minister G Parameshwara’s characterisation of the incident as a "minor accident," accusing him of shielding those responsible.
