Bengaluru, July 18 (Reporter) The BJP in Karnataka on Thursday issued a resounding warning to the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government, emphasising that failing to introduce the bill on job reservations for locals during the current Assembly session would incite strong opposition from Kannadigas. Talking to reporters here, Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa passionately emphasised the bill's profound significance, which has ignited hope among countless unemployed individuals in rural areas. "The bill, aimed at reserving jobs for Kannadigas, has kindled a ray of hope among millions of deserving but jobless rural citizens. It must be tabled in this session, lest the government face the wrath of Kannadigas," he asserted. Vijayendra hinted that the Congress government and the Chief Minister might be delaying the bill to deflect attention from current scandals. He cautioned that the people of Karnataka would not easily forgive if it was discovered that the government and Chief Minister, ensnared in scandals like the tribal welfare board and MUDA, deliberately stalled the Kannada-friendly bill to divert public scrutiny. Drawing attention to the alleged interference from Delhi, the BJP state President suggested that higher authorities might be obstructing the bill's progress. "The influential figures in Delhi, fearing divisions within the INDI alliance, appear to have restrained the Chief Minister. Why else would they cowardly shelve a bill crucial for the well-being of Kannadigas?" he pondered. In a series of probing inquiries, Vijayendra questioned the Congress government's intentions behind the bill's introduction and subsequent delay, expressing concern over the impact on Kannadigas' lives and dignity. He condemned the Congress government's decision, speaking on behalf of all Karnataka citizens, and criticized it as cowardly and demeaning to state's identity and its people for halting the bill. Highlighting the bill's importance as a response to longstanding demands from Kannada activists to safeguard local job opportunities, Vijayendra underscored the government's duty to recognise all who learn Kannada and reside in Karnataka as Kannadigas. He pressed for answers on why the bill was withdrawn abruptly. Vijayendra also accused the Chief Minister of capitulating to forces antithetical to Karnataka's interests, attributing the decision to withhold the bill after multiple policy reversals to influences undermining Karnataka's pride and self-respect. Finally, he concluded by rebuking Congress leaders for their inconsistency, asserting that those who once championed the bill now lacked the moral authority to address the Kannada people after retracting such significant legislation...////...
