BJP won't be able to win even Gram Panchayat elections if elections held on ballot paper: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jan 6 (Reporter) Shiv Sena (UBT) MP and party spokesperson, Sanjay Raut, observed on Saturday that the ruling BJP won't be able to win even Gram Panchayat elections if they are held on ballot paper. Addressing a press conference here, he said that in any developed country in the world, the electronic voting machines (EVMs) are not used for elections, then why there is so much insistence on EVMs in elections in the world's strongest democratic country, he questioned. "Some BJP leaders consider Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu. If People are with you take the elections on ballot paper," he said. "If people take to the streets against EVMs and create chaos, the government will be held responsible for the same," he observed. Citing instance of outcome of Madhya Pradesh assembly election result, the Shiv Sena spokesperson said that the Congress was leading on 150 seats in the postal ballots. "If this was a trend, then the question arises as to why this trend did not reflect in EVMs," he asked. Raut further said that BJP will not be able to win even Gram Panchayat elections if elections are held on ballot papers. Taking a potshot at BJP, he said that even Lord Ram will not be able to save BJP in the election. Talking about INDIA bloc, the Shiv Sena MP said that the INDIA bloc's formula on seat-sharing is ready and will be announced soon. No matter whoever wins the seat, all constituent parties will remain united and no one will help BJP from the back door, he noted. "There is coordination among all constituent parties on allocation of seats. Whoever wins will have the seat," he said. The Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar group), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) will contest the Lok Sabha elections with full strength, he said. VBA is a constituent party in INDIA bloc and its chief Advocate Prakash Ambedkar is positive about it, he said and noted that the countrymen are expecting a change in upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Referring to the Marathwada region, Raut said that Marathwada region remains stronghold of the Shiv Sena and party chief Uddhav Thackeray has been scrutinising the Lok Sabha seats in Marathwada for past 15 days, he added...////...
