BJP worker assaulted in Bengaluru Rural LS constituency, party blames Cong

Bengaluru, April 11 (Reporter) A BJP worker CS Naveen sustained head injuries after he was reportedly attacked with a wooden stick at Kempashettidoddi village in Bengaluru Rural Parliamentary constituency on Thursday, according to police. Based on the victim family's account, the attack seemingly stemmed from a dispute, possibly financial in nature, between Naveen and an acquaintance named Shekhar. The altercation escalated when Naveen was allegedly assaulted by Shekhar and his accomplice with a wooden stick. The victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital where after initial treatment, he was shifted to another one where is currently being treated. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, but no arrests have been made so far. "A case has been registered under sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon or means), 504 ( Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code at Bidadi police station and further investigation is is underway", a senior police officer said. Responding to the incident, State BJP President Vijayendra Yediyuarappa, criticised the Congress leadership, particularly Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and his brother DK Suresh, who is a Congress candidate from Bengaluru Rural. He accused them of exerting influence in the district and condoning violence against BJP workers and voters. Vijayendra urged the Election Commission and law enforcement authorities to take swift action against the alleged perpetrators, conduct a fair investigation, and ensure the safety of voters and peaceful conduct of the election in the region...////...
