Tiruchirapalli (Tamil Nadu), Dec 24 (Reporter) The bodies of all the three school students who were drowned in River Cauvery while taking bath on Monday evening were recovered on Tuesday night. The deceased were identified as S.Zakir Hussain (15), S.Vigneswaran (16) and S.Silambarasan (16) alias Simbu – all Class X students of RC Higher Secondary School near Tiruchirapalli railway junction. A group of ten students of the school went to Ayyalamman bathing ghats to take bath in the river, after completing their mid-term examinations on Monday evening. While taking bath, Zakir Hussain, Vigneswaran and Simbu reportedly slipped into the deep side of the river and subsequently swept away in the water current, while others managed to escape. Police and personnel of Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services department launched a search operation using rubber tubes, but were unable to trace the missing students due to poor light. The rescue team began a search operation this morning and retrieved the body of Zakir Hussain. After an intense search, the bodies of Vigneswaran and Simbu were recovered one after another after more than 24-hours of searching.
