Hyderabad, Jan 14 (Reporter) In the aftermath of BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy's arrest on Monday night, prominent Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, including Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) and Minister T.Harish Rao, were placed under house arrest on Tuesday.
Kaushik Reddy was taken into custody in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, following the registration of four cases against him at the Karimnagar One Town Police Station.
The cases stemmed from allegations that Reddy obstructed and attempted to attack Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar during a meeting at the Karimnagar Collectorate as part of a joint district development and welfare program plan.
Police arrived at former Minister Harish Rao's residence in Kokapet on Tuesday morning, placing him under house arrest in connection with the Kaushik Reddy episode.
Similarly, KTR was also placed under house arrest, with police personnel stationed outside his residence in Orion Villas, Gachibowli.
In Warangal, Rayaparthi police preemptively detained several BRS leaders in response to Kaushik Reddy's arrest. Key leaders from Vardhannapet were taken to the police station in the early hours of Tuesday. The detained leaders criticised the police's actions during the Sankranti festival.
Speaking to the media en route to court, Huzurabad MLA Kaushik Reddy condemned his arrest, describing it as unjust and politically motivated. He vowed to continue questioning the government and holding it accountable for its promises.
