Hyderabad, May 21 (Reporter) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka accused regional BRS party of attempting to mislead people of the state. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Bhatti assured farmers that they need not worry about selling their paddy and promised that the government would purchase paddy even if it is wet and seeds that have sprouted would also be bought at full rate. Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that the government would deposit money into farmers' accounts within three days of purchasing their paddy. He criticised the opposition, claiming they were unhappy with this prompt payment system. Bhatti accused the BRS party of terrorising farmers and appealed to the opposition not to use politics to create problems for them. Bhatti also addressed allegations by BRS and BJP leaders, stating that claims about paddy not being purchased and getting wet in storage were false. He recalled that last year, during his padayatra, farmers faced difficulties with piles of grain along the roads. However, this year, grain procurement started 15 days earlier than under the previous government, he noted. He clarified that 7,245 procurement centres have been established, surpassing the number set up by the BRS regime, ensuring that all harvested grain would be purchased. Regarding grain bonuses, Bhatti mentioned that the government had initiated a bonus of Rs 500 for fine rice. He reminded that former chief minister KCR had once declared that planting paddy would result in penalties. Bhatti asserted that the pro-farmer decisions made by the Congress government were not well-received by the opposition.
