BRS working president KTR welcomes SC order on Kancha Gachibowli forest land

Hyderabad, Apr 16 (Reporter) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has welcomed the Supreme Court’s directive to restore the forest area in Kancha Gachibowli and its instruction to the Telangana government to ensure the protection of wildlife in the region through its Chief Wildlife Warden. Terming the verdict as a major victory for environmental advocates, KTR said in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “The @BRSparty wholeheartedly welcomes the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s orders and hopes that at least now wisdom will dawn on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government in Telangana—that they cannot get away with environmental destruction.” He further expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court and urged the state government not to “continue to make a fool of itself.” KTR also extended heartfelt thanks to all those who supported the cause of protecting the forest, especially the students and faculty of the University of Hyderabad, for their relentless efforts to safeguard nearly 400 acres of forest land within Hyderabad city. The BRS party also welcomed the recommendation of the Supreme Court's Central Empowered Committee (CEC), which noted potential financial irregularities in the alleged mortgaging of Kancha Gachibowli land to a private entity by the Revanth Reddy-led government. “This validates the BRS party’s stand that a massive financial fraud has occurred,” KTR said. “It reaffirms that Chief Minister A.
