Chandigarh, Apr 16 (Reporter) In two separate incidents, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended three smugglers and recovered over 2 kg heroin being carried by a drone in Punjab.
A BSF spokesperson said on Wednesday that on the basis of specific inputs, BSF and State's Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Fazilka laid a joint naka at Fazilka-Ferozepur Road. During the operation, the team apprehended
the three suspects, including a woman.
Upon search, 2kg heroin was seized.The narcotic packet was wrapped in a yellow adhesive tape. The apprehended smugglers are residents of villages Gurkha and Hasta Kalan of district Fazilka. The arrests were made near Rana village of district Fazilka.
In another incident, BSF troops conducted an extensive search leading to the recovery of a drone along with one packet of heroin weighing 536 gm from a harvested field near Dhanoa Khurd village of district Amritsar. The narcotic packet was found wrapped in a yellow adhesive tape.
The BSF spokesperson said these operations highlighted the border patrolling agency's commitment to combating cross-border smuggling, drone-based threats, and ensuring the security of the state...////...
