Kannur, Nov 25 (Reporter) Burglars took away 300 sovereigns of gold and Rs one crore in cash kept in the locker from a house at Manna near Valapattanam, on Monday. According to police, three burglars entered the house by breaking the grills on the kitchen window and later broke the locker kept in the bedroom. First, they broke an almirah and took the keys to the locker of the house of one KP Asharaf, a wholesale rice merchant. The robbery took place when the family members went to Madurai, to attend a marriage function. When they arrived last night, they noticed the burglary and informed the police. Police, dog squad, and forensic experts have visited the crime site, and the probe is on, police said.
