Cal HC reserves its order on appeals seeking death penalty to murder convict Sanjay Roy

Kolkata , Jan 27 (Reporter) The Calcutta High Court on Monday reserved its order on the admission of two separate applications seeking the death penalty to convict Civic Volunteer Sanjay Roy in the medic rape and murder case. The West Bengal government and the Central Bureau of Investigation early last week had filed separate appeals challenging the Sealdah court verdict sentencing life imprisonment to Roy for the rape and murder of a 31-year-old medic at her working place at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9, 2024. The Division bench led by Justice Debangsu Basak after hearing from both sides reserved the order on Monday on admission of the two separate appeals...////...
