The charges was framed in presence of the prime accused, Roy,who was arrested by the Kolkata Police, hours after the body of the medic was found at the cardiac department room on the 3rd floor around 09.30 am on August 9 where she went to rest overnight after completing 36 hours of duty at a stretch.
The Calcutta High court on August 14 transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after the bereaved parents moved a petition demanding the case should be handed over to the premier investigative agency.
The CBI subsequently arrested him and ousted RGK Principal Sandip Ghosh and Tala Police station OC Abhijit Mondal for alleged tampering with the evidence of the murder scene.

Meanwhile, Roy, who was taken out from the Sealdah court into a prison van, told reporters from inside the van that he neither raped nor murdered the trainee doctor.
He said he was maintaining silence so far on the advice of the "Department" .
