Sambalpur, Feb 3 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday assured the people that the Centre will continue to work for the development of Odisha to take the state into a new height. Inaugurating the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur, Modi said today is the most important day for Odisha as projects worth Rs.70,000 crore were dedicated ,inaugurated and foundation stones laid. These projects, the Prime Minister said, will take Odisha to new heights benefiting all sections of the people of the state and providing huge employment opportunities to the youths of the state. He said “ We have made Odisha as an important centre of education with the establishments of IISER, NISER, Indian Institutes of Chemical Technology and IIM, Sambalpur. The Prime Minister said the country will be developed only when all the states in the country are developed. He claimed that the centre had always supported the development of Odisha in all sectors.The state, Modi said, had reached to new heights in the petroleum and petrochemical sector with the investment of Rs.1.5 lakh crores. The PM said, during the last 10 years, Odisha had received 12 times more in the railway budget and under the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana about 50,000 kms road in rural areas have been built while 4000 kms new road on National Highway have been constructed. He said the three new NH projects dedicated today will connect Odisha with Jharkhand reducing the time while Sonepur will be connected with the railway map with the inauguration of Puri- Sonpur train service which Modi said will help the people of the region to visit Puri and have darshan of Lord jagannath. Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw ,Biseswar Tudu and other BJP leaders were present at the function After the inauguration, Modi took stock of the facilities available at the IIM Sambalpur for the students and others. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked Modi for taking time to grace the inauguration of the new campus. He said the Prime Minister has set a new direction for India and we are on the path to become to an economic power. The IIM Sambalpur, Patnaik said has made its presence by producing some of the best graduates and best placements .He asked the students to think how they contribute for the development of the state. The Chief Minister said it is golden time for start ups in Odisha and the state has emerged as a top performer for promotion of start-ups. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also thanked the Prime Minister for providing Rs 18 lakh crore for the development of Odisha. He said out of the Rs 68,000 crore projects, the energy sector will have Rs 57,000 crore projects . Pradhan said 7 new IITs, 15 new AIIMS, 16 IIITs, 8 IIMS, 390 new universities have been set up in the country under Modi’s government.” The Minister said the Prime Minister has sanctioned 1.21 lakh crore for the education sector in the interim budget this year which is a 50 percent hike from 2014...////...
