In a release it said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the formation of two new battalions in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), boosting its strength to approximately 2 lakh personnel. This expansion, which includes a recently approved women’s battalion, will enhance national security and generate over 2,000 new jobs. Each new battalion will comprise 1,025 personnel and be led by a senior commandant, increasing the total number of CISF battalions from 13 to 15.
The newly formed battalions will bolster the CISF’s ability to address internal security challenges, including guarding high-security prisons and sensitive locations. Equipped with specialized training, weapons, and transport fleets, the battalions will improve the force’s quick response capabilities during emergencies, ensuring faster deployment and better crisis management.
This expansion is also expected to ease the workload on existing personnel, providing them with better opportunities for leaves and weekly offs, thereby enhancing their efficiency and job satisfaction.
The ceremony was attended by senior CISF officials, dignitaries from the police, armed forces, and PSUs, along with the families of the trainees, media representatives, and other guests...////...
