Sunam, May 11 (Reporter) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today said CM Bhagwant Mann had entered into an understanding with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and was set to form a separate Aam Aadmi Party (Punjab) unit post election to part ways with Arvind Kejriwal in the same manner as done by Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra. Mr Badal, who addressed massive gatherings at Sunam and Dhuri which he said had made party candidate Iqbal Singh Jhundan’s victory from this constituency secure, said “Bhagwant Mann had compromised with the BJP as he felt that he would also be arrested like his boss Kejriwal as he had also perpetrated the same Liquor scam as done by the AAP in Delhi. This understanding has saved him from imminent arrest”. Asserting that no Delhi based Party could be trusted with their votes; Mr Badal said “Bhagwant Mann has opened channels with both BJP and also the Congress in order to hedge his bets both ways. While on the one hand he has an informal understanding with the BJP, he has also aligned with the Congress party in Punjab and is putting up a friendly fight in most constituencies”. He also cited how AAP was contesting against the Congress in Punjab but Bhagwant Mann was campaigning for the Congress in Chandigarh and Haryana. Urging Punjabis to seal the borders for all Delhi based parties; Mr Badal said “the AAP Govt. in Punjab and the union government colluded to prevent our farmers from marching to Delhi. This led to tear gassing of our farmers and even firing of rubber bullets on them. Now it is your turn to seal the borders of Punjab with your votes”. He also reminded the people to remember the dastardly attack on Sri Darbar Sahib which started on June 1 in 1984 while casting their votes on the same day this year. Mr Badal also made out a fervent case for trusting the home grown party of Punjab, the SAD. He said the SAD had always stood for safeguarding the interests of Punjab and had even now decided to contest the Parliamentary elections alone when it became clear the BJP was not ready to resolve any of the pending grievances of farmers or the Sikh community. He also announced on the occasion that once the SAD was elected to power it would release tubewell connections to all agriculturists who did not have a single tubewell connection in their name. He also announced that all social welfare schemes like old age pension, atta-dal and shagun, which had been curtailed by successive Congress and AAP governments, would be revived in totality. SAD Sangrur candidate Iqbal Singh Jhundan said the SAD was the true guardian of the Panth and panthic institutions. He said strengthening the SAD would strengthen the Panth and would ensure all pending issues of the Sikh community were resolved at the earliest. Mr Badal also led a separate road show in Malerkotla which was organised by senior leader Zahida Suleman which received a huge response...////...
