Patna, Dec 7 (Reporter) Outlining the importance of Chief Minister relief fund, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the fund is utilized to provide relief at the time of disaster. Reviewing the activities of the fundz Kumar said here on Saturday that in addition to the disasters, the fund is utilised to extend financial help in various situations. Secretary to the Chief Minister Anupam Kumar said that so far an amount of Rs 99 crore 43 lakh 91 thousand 35 has been released to the Disaster Management Department for construction of 100 flood shelters in 10 flood affected districts. He said that 77 flood shelters have been completed and the construction work of the remaining flood shelters was in progress. Kumar said that a total of Rs 9 crore was paid as ex-gratia grant-in-aid to the dependents of 139 deceased and 61 seriously injured people of Bihar in various accidents outside the state and to the families of 156 people who died due to various disasters within the state.
