CM reviews Hooch tragedy

Patna, Oct 17 ( UNI) Taking serious cognizance of the hooch tragedy of Siwan and Saran district, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed the senior authorities to take stern action against the culprits after making an in-depth inquiry into the incident. After reviewing the hooch tragedy of both Siwan and Saran districts in a high-level meeting here on Thursday, Kumar asked the Excise Department and Registration Department Secretary to personally visit the spot and take stock of the situation for complete inquiry. He also instructed the Secretary to personally investigate the incident. The Chief Minister directed the Additional Director General Prohibition to visit the spot along with the entire team of prohibition for an intensive inquiry and asked to initiate serious action against the culprits. The Chief Minister also instructed the Director General of Police to regularly monitor the situation on his own and ensure action against the guilty persons responsible for the hooch tragedy. The Chief Minister appealed to the people to avoid consuming alcohol as it affects their health and distorts the social and family atmosphere. He said that there was a complete ban on liquor in Bihar and everyone was following it but some Anti-Social elements were intentionally trying to disturb the peace in the society.
