Coastal road to save time, fuel & reduce pollution: Fadnavis

Mumbai, Jan 26 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday asserted that the coastal road would save a lot of time and fuel for Mumbaikars and will play an important role in getting rid of pollution. He was speaking at inaugural function of Dharamveer Swarajrakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj North Channel of Mumbai Coastal Road in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Cultural Affairs & Information Technology Minister Advocate Ashish Shelar, Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Municipal Commissioner & Administrator Bhushan Gagrani among other concerned officials were present on this occasion. While interacting with the media on this occasion, Chief Minister Fadnavis said 94 percent of Mumbai coastal road work has been completed and Uttar Vahini Marga has been inaugurated today. This route is being dedicated to citizens on Republic Day and on Monday, three other inter-routes along with this route will be opened, he informed. He further said these include the expressway from Marine Drive to Prabhadevi, expressway from Marine Drive to Bindumadhav Thackeray Chowk and the expressway connecting Bindumadhav Thackeray Chowk to Sagari Setu and heading towards Bandra, he said. Deputy CM Shinde expressed his belief that the North Channel is being inaugurated on the Republic Day and this route will bring a big change in the lives of Mumbaikars. He appreciated the unique and international standard technical work of the coastal road. The bifurcation of this road is being beautified.
