Patna, Feb 18 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said that
communal amity in the state had prevailed since his government was voted to power in 2005.
Kumar during his " Pragati Yatra " in Kaimur district , said that earlier
during the regime of RJD from 1990 to 2005, there used to be communal disturbances in Bihar. When his government was voted to power in November 2005, many steps were taken to maintain communal amity in the state , he added.
" Boundary walls have been constructed around 8,000 graveyards so far while another 1273 graveyards have been identified for such protection ", Chief Minister said adding that of these 1273 identified graveyards, boundary walls had already been constructed around 746 graveyards while construction work was in progress around other graveyards. These measures had helped in communal amity in the state, he added.
Kumar said that " jungle raj " had prevailed in Bihar during the RJD regime and no person dared to move out from his house after Sunset due to the threat to life and property. Rule of law was established by his government by taking all required measures including recruitments of cops and providing them facilities to perform their duties properly, he added.
" In Primary Health Centres (PHCs), only 39 patients used to seek treatment but its number increased to more than 11,000 after treatment facilities improved there due to sustained and concerted efforts of his government", Chief Minister said. Number of Medical College and Hospitals has increased from 6 to 12 in Bihar after his government was voted to power in 2005, he stated...////...
