Bengaluru, Sept 10 (Reporter) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing it of turning Congress-ruled states into safe havens for terrorists and criminals. His remarks came in the wake of formal accusations by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the Rameswaram Cafe Bomb case, that there was a disturbing trend of targeted attacks on national interests and nationalist organisations. "The investigation has exposed a pattern where terrorist organisations are prioritizing attacks on nationalist groups, which is a dangerous sign of their intent to destabilise the country," Vijayendra said here, emphasising that the agenda of terror groups is a direct threat to national security. He accused Congress and its allies of prioritising vote bank politics over national defence and development, stating, "While BJP and its allies are advancing against such terror threats, Congress-ruled states are turning into safe havens for terrorism and crime." He also alleged that the Congress government in Karnataka has "failed" over the past year and a half in checking "widespread lawlessness, corruption scandals" and claimed there was a "lack of developmental progress" . According to the BJP leader. all of these were evidences of "governance breakdown".
