Jagtial (Telangana), Oct 22 (Reporter) Maru Gangareddy (56), a close follower of Congress Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Jeevan Reddy, was murdered in Jabitapur village in Jagtial district on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred when the assailants rammed Gangareddy's bike with a car and then attacked him with knives. Gangareddy lost consciousness following the attack. Family members and locals rushed him to the Jagtial Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway, according to the police. Upon hearing of the incident, Congress leaders, including Jeevan Reddy, were deeply distressed. A protest (rasta roko) was organized at the old bus stand in Jagtial to condemn the murder.
