Mumbai, Jan 31 (Reporter) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson, Atul Londhe, on Wednesday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state government, accusing it of dealing with the Opposition with a vengeance and in a discriminatory way. He further alleged that the BJP government was constantly trying to confuse the Opposition parties from all sides. Pointing to discrimination in allocation of funds to the Opposition, he said that Rs 500 crore were given as bailout to MLAs of the ruling parties in Mumbai while not even a single penny was given to MLAs of the Opposition parties and termed it as a low form of politics. Elaborating further on discrimination in the MLAs' development fund, Londhe said that out of 36 MLAs in Mumbai, 21 MLAs of the ruling party got Rs 500 crore, but not even one of 15 MLAs from the Opposition parties, including the Congress, was given a fund, he said. "Each MLA is given funds for development work in his constituency. It is expected that these funds will be distributed equally, but sometimes it would be understandable if MLAs of the ruling parties were given a tilt scale, but the political tendency to not give even a single penny to the Opposition is at a very low level," he said.
