Court finds nine RSS/BJP workers in connection with CPI-M worker Rijith murder case

Kannur, Jan 4 (Reporter) The Thalassery Additional District Sessions Court (3) on Saturday found all the nine RSS/BJP workers guilty in connection with the murder of CPI(M) worker A V Rijith(26) of Kannapuram, in 2005. Judge Ruby K Jose found all the nine accused guilty under various sections including 302 (murder). The accused found guilty were -- V.V Sudhakaran (56), K T Jayesh (39), V V Srikanth (46),P P Ajeendran (50), I V Anilkumar (51), P P Rajesh (45), C P Ranjith (42), V V Sreejith (42) and T V Bhaskaran (66), all from Chunda near Kannapuram in the district. The accused Ajesh was killed in a road accident before the trial of the case. The quantum of the punishment to the accused will be announced on January 7. The court examined 28 witnesses, 59 documents, and 50 material objects during the trial. On October 2,2005, at around 2100 hrs, Rijith was hacked to death. A gang attacked Rijith with lethal weapons at Thachankandi near Chunda while he was going to meet his friends. While Rijith died on the spot, three DYFI/CPI(M) workers-- K V Nikesh, C Vikas, and K Vimal suffered stab injuries in the attack...////...
