Kannur, Jan 7 (Reporter) The Thalassery Additional District Sessions Court (3) on Tuesday awarded life Imprisonment (LI) to nine RSS/BJP workers in connection with the murder of a CPI(M) worker A V Rijith(26) of Kannapuram, in 2005. Judge Ruby K Jose also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh and ten thousand on each of all nine accused. The fine amount would be given to kins of the victim's family, the court ordered. The court found all the nine accused guilty on January 4, under various sections including 302 (murder)307,143,147,341 and 324 sections of the IPC against the accused V.V Sudhakaran (56), K T Jayesh (39), V V Srikanth (46),P P Ajeendran (50), I V Anilkumar (51), P P Rajesh (45), C P Ranjith (42), V V Sreejith (42) and T V Bhaskaran (66)and announced the punishment on Tuesday. All nine are hailing from Chunda and nearby areas of the Kannapuram in the district. The accused K T Ajesh was killed in a road accident before the trial of the case. The court during the trial examined 28 witnesses, 59 documents, and 50 material objects. The case trial was conducted under five judges and the verdict came after 19 years of the crime, on Tuesday. It was on October 3,2005, that Rijith was hacked to death at Thachankandi near Chunda A gang attacked Rijith with lethal weapons at Thachankandi near Chunda while he was on his way to meet his friends and three DYFI/CPI(M) workers K V Nikesh, C Vikas, and K Vimal suffered stab injuries in the attack...////...
