Imphal, Sept 14 (Reporter) Curfew was relaxed from 5 am to 4 pm in Imphal West, Imphal East, and Bishenpur districts of Manipur on Saturday. The Manipur government had imposed a curfew in the Greater Imphal and surrounding areas, considering a students’ movement demanding action to end the Manipur strife. Internet services in the state were also stopped from September 10 till September 15. Broadband services in some areas were lifted after signing an undertaking; however, services were yet to be restored to the general public. As the internet was not banned in the hilly areas, people flocked to the foothills to access the internet. Complete chaos was seen in the market as people flocked to buy vegetables, food, and essential items during the lifting of the ban.
