Pudukottai, Mar 11 (Reporter) In a major seizure, the Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Customs Preventive Commissionerate, Tiruchirapalli seized 100 kilograms of Hashish and 876 kilograms of Ganja valued at Rs 111.05 crore from a locked shed near a prawn farm at Mimisal, a coastal village in Pudukottai district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday evening.
Official sources said here on Monday that the CIU team, based on specific information, raided the shed and seized the narcotic substance packed in gunny bags, allegedly intended for smuggling to Sri Lanka.
The value of the seized hashish was put at Rs 110 crore, while the Ganja was valued at Rs 1.05 crore.
A search is underway to nab the owner of the prawn farm. Further investigation is underway, the sources added...////...
