Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 17 (Reporter) Friday’s cyclonic circulation over South Interior Karnataka now lies over North Interior Karnataka and adjoining Telangana and extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height, Meteorological Centre said on Saturday. In a daily weather report here, it said that Friday’s trough from North Interior Karnataka to Comorin area now runs from cyclonic circulation over North Interior Karnataka adjoining Telangana to Comorin Area across Kerala and interior Tamil Nadu and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level. The southwest monsoon has been weak over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and normal over Rayalaseema. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and strong surface winds with speed ranging from 30-40 Kmph is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next five days and in Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours. Strong surface winds with speed ranging from 30-40 Kmph is likely to prevail at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on August 17-18. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places or at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.
