Hyderabad, Nov 27 (Reporter) The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana seized antibiotics worth Rs 1.33 crore during a raid on the manufacturing facility of Jodas Expoim Private Limited, located in Biotech Park in Karkapatla of Siddipet District. The raid uncovered unauthorized packing and falsified labeling of antibiotics intended for export to Russia. Acting on credible intelligence, the DCA conducted the raid on Tuesday and found large quantities of antibiotics stored in the facility’s Finished Goods Warehouse. The operation revealed violations under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Upon inspection, officials discovered that a batch of Ampicillin + Sulbactam 1000 mg + 500 mg injections (Batch No. JD4479), consisting of 38,175 vials, was falsely labeled as manufactured by Jodas Expoim Private Limited. and Alpa Laboratories Limited, Indore. However, the batch was actually produced at Indian Genomix Private Limited, Cherlapally, Telangana. The antibiotics were being exported to Russia under the false claim of being manufactured by Jodas Expoim Private Limited. Further investigations revealed that other antibiotics, including Amoxicillin 1000 mg + Clavulanic Acid 200 mg, Ampicillin + Sulbactam 2000 mg + 1000 mg, and Meropenem 500 mg, had been similarly exported to Russia in October and November 2024. These products, manufactured by different pharmaceutical companies, were falsely labeled under the Jodas Expoim brand. Additionally, unauthorized repackaging of antibiotics was carried out at the facility. The seized stock, valued at Rs 1.33 crore, was confiscated for violating provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Samples of the seized antibiotics have been sent for analysis. The raid was conducted by Assistant Director P Ramu, along with Drugs Inspectors S Vinay Sushmi, Ch Karthik Siva Chaitanya, T Shiva Teja, and P. Chandrakala.
