New Delhi, Jan 13 (Reporter) Disgruntled BJP leader and former Karnataka minister, V Somanna met central party leaders Amit Shah and JP Nadda here on Saturday and pressed for a Rajya Sabha ticket from the state.
"I did not discuss about Tumakuru Lok Sabha seat, but asked him to consider me for the Rajya Sabha ticket," he told reporters here.
The meeting comes in the wake of speculations that Somanna was in touch with Congress leaders and might join the Congress ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Somanna also has asked the central party leaders to assign him the accountability of three Lok Sabha seats where the party's chance of winning is tough. He also said Amit Shah has asked him to stay in the party mainstream.
Since his defeat from two seats in the last assembly election, Somanna has been sulking, and it aggravated further after he was overlooked for the state party president's post, which ultimately went to Vijayendra Yediyurappa.
