Chennai, Nov 27 (Reporter) It was a low key celebrations for ruling DMK Youth Wing Secretary and
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who turned 47 on Wednesday.
On his first birthday after becoming the Deputy CM, he started the day by paying floral tributes
at the memorial of his grandfather an late DMK Patriarch and CM M Karunanidhi and DMK
stalwart C N Annadurai at the Marina beach front and also at the memorial of Rationalist leader
and social reformer Periyar.
He was accompanied by senior party leaders, DMK MPs, MLAs, party cadres and Chennai Corporation Mayor Ms R.Priya and others.
He also paid floral tributes to portraits of Mr Karunanidhi, Anna and late DMK General Secretary
K Anbazhagan.
Later, he sought blessings from his parents--father DMK President and Chief Minister MK Stalin
and mother Ms Durga Stalin by visiting their residence.
Besides visiting the Mr Karunanidhi’s Gopalapuram residence, he also sought the blessings of
his the leader's wife Rajathi Ammal, and mother of his aunt Kanimozhi MP, at her CIT colony
residence.
However, Kanimozhi, who is in Delhi for the winter session of parliament took to her ‘X’ handle to
extend her greetings to him .
Later, he celebrated the occasion with the inmates of an aged home in the city by cutting a cake
and also distributed dry fruits to them and took their blessings.
Mr Udhayanidhi has already appealed to the DMK cadres to avoid any grand celebrations and
instead concentrate on the 2026 Assembly election works, which had already commenced, to
ensure a massive victory for the party.
He also thanked all the leaders and party functionaries for extending their birthday greetings
to him.
Meanwhile, newspapers and DMK organ Murasoli were awash with advertisements as party functionaries vied with each other in extending their greetings and eulogised him as the future
of Dravidian movement...////...
