New Delhi, Feb 5 (Reporter) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today held a telephone call with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, during which they discussed the bilateral ties and the developments in the region.
In a post on X, the EAM said:
“Had a telecon with FM Dr. Badr Abdelatty of Egypt.
“Discussed recent developments in the region and our bilateral ties. Agreed to remain in touch.”
The telephone call comes ahead of the arrival of the Egyptian Foreign Minister to India in the wee hours on Thursday.
He calls on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow, after that he goes to Rajghat to lay the wreath.
He will be meeting with the EAM S. Jaishankar in the evening at Hyderabad House.
Egyptian President Abdel Fatah-el Sisi paid his Second State Visit to India in January 2023; he was invited as the Chief Guest of India’s 74th Republic Day celebrations.
President Sisi visited India again in September 2023 to participate in G20 Leaders’ Summit.
