Mumbai, Mar 28 (Reporter) The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday rejected the caste certificate of S Barve the Congress Party nominee in the reserved Ramtek (SC) Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra. During the scrutiny of Barve’s nomination papers this morning, which were filed earlier this week, the commission was not satisfied with the validity of the caste certificate. The development has raised an embarrassing question mark on her candidature for Ramtek (SC) parliamentary constituency, and Barve’s team rushed to move the Bombay High Court (Nagpur Bench) for urgent relief.
