ED raids six different places in alleged job cards irregularities across Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 6 (Reporter) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out search operations at six places in four districts across West Bengal, including in this metropolis, in relation to the alleged irregularities linked to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). or 100 days jobs, official sources said. The federal probe agency, investigating the money trails in the 100 days of job irregularities, began raiding at least six places - including that of Berhampur, Jhargram, Chinsurah, Chandannagar and Salt Lake since this morning. The raids for the alleged irregularities in the 100 days' work were first of its kind in the state. The raids were conducted at a time state ruling Trinamool Congress, which is staging a sit-in-dharna at Red Road, entered its 5th day. The demonstration was being organised against the alleged Union government stopping the funds under MGNREGA (100 days job funds). State chief minister Mamata Banerjee initially led the sit-in-dharna for the first 48 hours.
