Eight held for selling IPL tickets in black market

Chennai, May 27 (Reporter) Police have arrested eight people for selling tickets in black market during yesterday's IPL final between Sun Risers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) held at Chepauk stadium here. Police have also seized 36 tickets worth Rs.1,42,100 from them. As per the orders of Greater Chennai Commissioner of Police Sandeep Rai Rathore, under the direct supervision of higher police officers, a police team were engaged in intensive surveillance and monitoring to arrest those who illegally sell tickets in the black market during the match. During intensive surveillance at the Chepauk Cricket Ground and its surrounding areas eight people--Imtiaz Ahmed, Jatin, Kathikeyan, Niladri Sekhar Mondal, Sivanandha Gowda, Venkatraman, Palagiri Syed Basha and Pranai--were arrested for illegally selling tickets at high price in the Black Market, a police release said on Monday.
