Ex bandit queen Seema Parihar gets 4-yr-imprisonment in kidnapping case

Auraiya (UP), Feb 21 (Reporter) Former bandit queen Seema Parihar and three others were sentenced to four years imprisonment along with a penalty of Rs 5,000 each by a special court here on Wednesday in a 30-year-old kidnapping case, prosecution counsels said here. District Government Counsel (DGC) Abhishek Mishra said that in 1994 one Pramod Kumar Tripathi, a resident of Gadhiya Baksiram village, was kidnapped by 10-15 armed miscreants. "His brother lodged a case in this regard at Auraiya police station on March 19, 1994," he said. He said that during investigation the gang was identified as that of bandit Lalaram and Seema Parihar. "The police later filed a charge sheet in the court. During the course of trial bandit Lalaram died," he said. Mishra said that based on the evidence available on record the court of Special Judge (Anti Dacoity) Sunil Kumar Singh held Seema Parihar, her gang members Ram Kishan alias Kishna, Chhote Singh and Aniruddh guilty on Tuesday and reserved its order. He said, "Pronouncing the quantum of punishment the court sentenced all accused, including Parihar, to four years imprisonment. After the order was passed the convicts were sent to jail." It may be noted that Seema Parihar, who unleashed the reign of terror in the ravines of Chambal in 1990s surrendered before the police in 2000. She later joined politics and contested various elections from different political parties. She was one of the contestants in reality show Bigg Boss in 2010...////...
