Bengaluru, June 17 (Reporter) Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday for an inquiry into a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case registered against him. The Karnataka High Court had recently issued an order restraining the CID from arresting the veteran BJP leader in connection with the allegations, which date back to March 14. The case involves accusations by the mother of a 17-year-old girl who claimed that Yediyurappa molested her daughter during a meeting at his residence in Dollars Colony on February 2 of this year. Yediyurappa has firmly denied the charges, labeling them as conspiracies against him and asserting that "people would teach a lesson to those indulging in conspiracies." The case has seen significant legal action, with the victim's brother filing a petition last week, criticising the slow pace of the investigation and demanding Yediyurappa's arrest and interrogation. Despite the case being registered three months ago, progress has reportedly been limited. Initially registered by the Sadashivanagar police in March, the case was transferred to the CID by an order from Karnataka Director General of Police Alok Mohan for further investigation. Complicating the case, the 54-year-old woman who filed the complaint succumbed to lung cancer at a private hospital last month. In a related development, the CID collected a voice sample from Yediyurappa in April, which formed part of the ongoing investigation. This case continues to unfold amidst a backdrop of political tension and scrutiny, with the former Chief Minister's supporters and critics closely watching the developments...////...
