Ex-TN Minister Senthilbalaji moves PSJ court seeking to defer tomorrow's framing of charges in PMLA case

Chennai, July 21 (Reporter) Two days after his discharge plea was dismissed, Former Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK strongman V.Senthilbalaji, arrested and lodged in a money laundering case filed by the ED, on Sunday night moved the Principal Sessions Court in Chennai seeking to defer framing of charges scheduled for Monday. In the plea, his counsel said Mr Balaji will be filing an appeal before the Madras High Court or the Supreme Court tomorrow against the PSJ court order dismissing his discharge plea from the case. He also informed the court that the former AIADMK Minister has been indisposed and was admitted to the government hospital and that he could not be produced tomorrow physically as directed by PSJ Judge Ms S.Alli for framing of charges after his discharge plea was dismissed. After Mr Balaji, who had underwent a heart surgery soon after his arrest an year back and was lodged in prison since then, complained of health issues this evening, he was taken to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital from Puzhal prison after first aid. He was later shifted to the ICU at the Government Multi-speciality hospital at the Omandurar estate, where he was initially treated after his arrest, before being shifted to a private hospital for heart surgery on the orders of the High Court. Omandurar Government hospital sources said his condition was being monitored by a team of doctors. In such circumstances, he could not be produced before the court tomorrow and prayed for postponing framing of charges as a petition will be filed in the High Court/Supreme Court challenging the dismissal of the discharge petition and on the ground that he was indisposed and undergoing treatment at the hospital...////...
