First ‘Maha Kumbh Punya Kshetra Yatra’ Bharat Gaurav tourist train departs from Secunderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 20 (Reporter) The inaugural journey of the first "Maha Kumbh Punya Kshetra Yatra" Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train commenced on Monday from Secunderabad Railway Station. This marks the 27th trip of the Bharat Gaurav initiative by Indian Railways, aimed at showcasing India's cultural heritage and historical landmarks. The train, flagged off by senior citizen Tapan Chandra (77) in the presence of P Raj Kumar, Group General Manager, IRCTC, will cover key pilgrimage sites including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya. The 7-night, 8-day journey provides passengers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with a spiritual tour featuring prominent sites like Triveni Sangam, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, and Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi. Boarding and de-boarding facilities are available at various stations, including Bhongir, Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada, and Vizag. The tour package includes rail and road transport, accommodation, catering (on-board and off-board meals), security (CCTV and public announcement systems), travel insurance, and on-board assistance by IRCTC tour managers. Encouraged by the positive response, IRCTC has announced a second “Maha Kumbh Punya Kshetra Yatra” Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train departing on February 15, 2025. Cost per Passenger (including GST): Economy (SL): Rs 23,035, Standard (3AC): Rs 32,105 and Comfort (2AC): Rs 38,300 Passengers can book tickets via the IRCTC website or through designated counters.
