Chennai, Aug 11 (Reporter) Five people, including two college students were killed, and two others
injured, when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Ramanjeri village near
Tiruttani in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday evening.
Reports received at the police headquarters here said two of the deceased were college students
and the other three were civilians.
A total of seven people were travelling the car.
The bodies were taken to Tiruvallur government hospital where the seriously injured were admitted
for treatment.
Traffic on the arterial Chennai-Tirupati highway was affected for a couple of hours following the
accident.
The impact of the collision was such that the car was completely reduced to a mangled heap and
police and fire service personnel struggled hard to retrieve the bodies from the ill-fated vehicle.
Meanwhile, reports said all the victims were students of private college in Chennai. They were
returning to their college after a visit to Andhra Pradesh when the mishap occurred.
However, police while confirming that two of the deceased were college students, the details of
other dead were being ascertained to confirm whether they are college students are civilians.
The victims were said to be natives of Andhra Pradesh.
