Kolhapur, Jun 3 (Reporter) In a terrible accident, four people, including former vice-chancellor of Shivaji University, were killed and five others were seriously injured after a speeding car vigorously hit four two-wheelers in busy Cyber chowk area of city on Monday. According to police, a speeding car vigorously hit four two-wheelers after car driver lost control on wheel. In this incident, total nine people on two-wheelers were hit by car. Two of them died on spot, while two more succumbed to injuries in hospitals during medical treatment. All injured persons have been admitted at civil and private hospitals. The impact of collision was so severe that the riders on two-wheelers were flung in air and fell down on other side of the road, police said. In this accident, three two-wheelers and a car were totally damaged. After hitting four two-wheelers, speeding car crashed into an electric pole and overturned on the road. One of deceased was identified as Vasant Chavan (72), who was former vice-chancellor of Shivaji University.
