Kolkata, May 16 (Reporter) Four people were killed and ten injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a four wheeler on NH 116 in Bengal's East Medinipur on Thursday, police said.
The accident took place on NH 116 at Marishda around 5 am when the bus heading towards Digha, a sea resort, hit a roadside transformer following which the driver lost control and dashed against a small vehicle coming from opposite direction.
After the accident the bus overturned.
The injured have been admitted to a local hospital, where the condition of some was stated to be critical.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condoled the death and said the state was considering granting financial relief to the relatives of the deceased.
Police said the reason for the accident was being probed.
