Four youths drown in River Ganga

Bhagalpur, July 22 (Reporter) All together four youths met their watery grave in River Ganga near Mathurapur Jahaj Bank under the Bhawanipur police station area here on Monday. Naugachia police Superintendent Puran Kumar Jha said the youth had gone to collect Holy water on the occasion of the first Monday of Shravan month. While collecting the water one of the youth got trapped in the water. To save him his friends jumped into the river one by one and they all began to sink in the water. The local divers managed to save seven youths whereas four others went deep into the water and drowned. The bodies have been fished out. The deceased have been identified as Shivam Kumar (18), Sonu Kumar (16), Sanjeev Kumar (17) and Alok Kumar (18). All the deceased belong to Naya Tola village of Nawgachia police station area. Bhagalpur district Magistrate Nawal Chaudhary informed that family members of the deceased were being provided Rs 4 lakh each as ex-gratia...////...
