Ganesh immersion proceeding peacefully across Telangana: DGP

Hyderabad, Sep 17 (Reporter) Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender has confirmed that the Ganesh immersion process is proceeding peacefully in Hyderabad and across the state on Tuesday. Speaking to the media at the DGP office, Jitender stated that the police have made comprehensive security arrangements for the occasion, ensuring that traffic is being managed smoothly and that devotees are not inconvenienced. He highlighted that this year’s Vinayaka immersion is taking place in a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The DGP mentioned that two coordination meetings were held with leaders of different religious communities to ensure harmony. Additional meetings were also held at the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner levels to maintain peace throughout the immersion process. He noted that the Balapur Ganesh procession is already underway within Hyderabad, and immersion activities have been successfully completed in other locations, including Bainsa, across the state. DGP Jitender assured the public that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth process, with efforts being made to complete the immersion by tonight. He emphasised that the police are remaining vigilant to prevent even minor incidents. A control room has been set up at the DGP office, and continuous monitoring is being conducted, especially in areas where issues might arise. CCTV cameras have been installed in sensitive areas across Hyderabad, and monitoring is being coordinated from the Hyderabad Command Control Center. The DGP also noted that approximately one lakh idols are being immersed under the jurisdiction of the three Police Commissionerates.
