Pune Feb 3 (Reporter) Though the number of GBS patients is increasing in Maharashtra, especially in Pune city, the situation is completely under control as the disease is not contagious, Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda said in a virtual meeting on Monday.

Nadda said the medicines required for these diseases are available in sufficient quantity in the state.
The Union AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav, Maharashtra Health Minister Prakash Avitkar, Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, Minister of State for Medical Education Madhuri Misal and other officials concerned were present in the virtual meeting.
Nadda made a detailed review and gave instructions to officials of various departments to carry out direct inspections in the areas where the number of GBS patients is increasing, and those sports where poultry farming is carried out.
The Water Supply and Purification Department should conduct a special water purification campaign, and where pipelines need repairing, that should be done immediately, he said.
Nadda also directed the administration to review the water supply and health issues of the last two months. and urged hospitals to follow the SOPs prescribed by the government and advise patients to improve their mental health, besides going for physiotherapy...////...
