Giriraj Singh gets death threats on phone from Pakistan

Patna, Sept 27 (Reporter) Union Minister Giriraj Singh, a firebrand BJP leader has been threatened with death by a caller from Pakistan who tried to intimidate him with dire consequences. The caller from Pakistan made a WhatsApp call to Singh's parliamentary constituency representative Amrendra Singh at 11.30 AM on Thursday and threatened to kill both of them. A complaint in this connection was made by Amrendra Singh at the Town police station in Begusarai. In the complaint, Singh who is Khagaria district in charge of BJP and is a Standing Council Member of the Union government, said that a voice call was made on his mobile number 9431251140 from number +923276100973 of Pakistan. Singh said that The caller used abusive language against the Union Minister and also for him. He instantly informed the police Superintendent of Begusarai and also to Girraj Singh on WhatsApp about it. In the complaint Singh stated that he got the call when he was getting ready for the court the caller was talking about someone's arrest and threatened them both with dire consequences. The call had been made to kill him and the Union Minister Singh, he said and requested legal action in the incident. He said that he had informed the district Magistrate, police Superintendent, and intelligence about the incident and asked the administration as well as the NIA to trace the call which he believed was made by a caller from Pakistan. Meanwhile, DSP Begusarai headquarters said that a complaint has been made by the representative of Minister Giriraj Singh which is a matter of investigation. He said the investigation had been initiated on the basis of the number and anything concrete could be disclosed only after finding out the owner of the number and place from where the call was made. He, however, said that the local police cannot do much in the case when the number belongs to a foreign country and it is the jurisdiction of Interpol to take any action in such cases. He said senior officers have been apprised of the incident. Giriraj Singh was recently attacked by a person during his janta darbar in Begusarai, his parliamentary constituency.
