Hyderabad, May 28 (Reporter) Glowing tributes were paid to the actor-turned-politician, founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and former Chief Minister of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), on his 101st birth anniversary on Tuesday.
Family members, including actor Balakrishna, former Union Minister and Andhra Pradesh BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari, actor Jr NT Rama Rao, and actor Kalyan Ram, visited NTR Ghat early this morning to pay their respects to N T Rama Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, Purandeswari remarked that NTR is more than a name; he is a sensation. She noted that he has acted in over 320 films and that he holds an indelible place in the hearts of the Telugu audience.
She highlighted his significant contributions to politics, particularly his welfare programs for the poor. Daggubati Purandeswari emphasized that they would continue to draw inspiration from his legacy.
Balakrishna, paying tribute to his father alongside party leaders, stated that NTR epitomizes acting and embodies the essence of Navarasa (the nine emotions). He praised NTR as a great actor and a university of learning, mentioning that many people have been inspired by him. He affirmed that NTR is an idol for the Telugu people and a pivotal figure who brought political awareness.
